Naomi Retains WWE Women’s World Title At WWE SummerSlam

Naomi retained her WWE Women’s World Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2025.
Naomi defeated IYO Sky and Rhea Ripley to retain her title in the opening match of WWE SummerSlam Sunday. The finish came when Ripley hit an Avalanche Riptide on Sky, but while she was pinning her, Naomi came from behind and rolled her up, holding her tights for extra leverage.

This was a special night for Naomi. This was her first time participating in a WWE SummerSlam event since 2017. Back then, she lost the last WWE Women’s Championship she held, the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, to Natalya.
The night was additionally special because her dad, Shay McCray, played guitar as she made her way to the ring for her first Women’s World Championship entrance on a PLE.
