Layla: I Used To Have Amazing Matches With Aksana

Former WWE Diva Layla talks to Fightful about the wrestlers she enjoyed working with the most during her career.

Layla was a huge part of the WWE Divas roster during the WWE PG era. Most remember her for her time alongside Michelle McCool as LayCool. However, she was also on the rise with names like Kelly Kelly in the ECW brand as Extreme Expose, and has fond memories of wrestling many of the women from that era.

Speaking with Fightful’s Kate Elizabeth at WrestleCon in August 2025, the former WWE Diva Layla praised working with stars like Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, and Michelle McCool. Additionally, she gives a rare shout-out to the incredible matches she used to have with Aksana.

“When I was active, my favorite-favorite is Kelly Kelly. Kelly Kelly and I started together. We started in ECW when we were dancing together and training, and wrestling, and I loved our matches. I was able to look at her and walk out there and we knew exactly what we were gonna do. I love working Michelle McCool. I miss my friend. I love working Michelle. There’s so many matches. I enjoyed working with a lot of girls. I enjoyed working with Eve Torres on matches. But those are the girls I think that stand out the most. We’ve had the most matches with them. Oh, and Aksana, I used to have amazing matches with Aksana.”

In the past, she has stated that she is willing to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside Michelle McCool as part of a tag team. Read those comments here.
