Shinnichi Champion To Produce NJPW Event
The folks at variety show Shinnichi Champion will produce an upcoming NJPW event called Pion! on September 12.
The event will air on NJPW World with Japanese commentary only.
The show will be headlined by Zack Sabre Jr. teaming with Tomohiro Ishii and Taichi along with Ryusuke Taguchi to take on Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura, Ryohei Oiwa and Kosei Fujita.
The post G1 Climax 35 press conference saw an added twist as news emerged about Pion!, a special event from Korakuen Hall coming to NJPW World PPV on September 12.
Produced by the staff of the popular Shinnichi Champion variety show which airs on NJPW World and TV Asahi, Pion! Has already sold out Korakuen Hall and is set to be a unique event with factions mixed and unique in ring pairings. Show host Tsumugi Mitani announced the main event of the card, which has the theme of “Generation Crash”.
IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. teams with Tasg Team Champions Tomohiro Ishii and Taichi and a veteran lynchpin of Hontai in Ryusuke Taguchi. Their opponents, the bright young stars of both Hontai and TMDK in the form of Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura, Ryohei Oiwa and Kosei Fujita!
