Karl Anderson: When You’re Not One Of Their Guys In WWE, You’re Just Not One Of Their Guys
Karrion Kross has the wrestling world talking after his WWE contract expired on August 10th and was not renewed. Many have wondered if the situation is a work or a shoot as Kross gained popularity throughout 2025 and was featured going into and at WWE SummerSlam.
On Talk’n Shop, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows gave their thoughts on the situation, with Anderson believing that it was a work. They discussed different scenarios, including Kross working various independent promotions.
In the end, Anderson came to the following conclusion.
“It was a very different time, and we tried, we definitely tried. Trust me, guys, we tried. When I was the NEVER Openweight Champion, there could have been so much stuff we could’ve done. Sometimes, when you’re just not a chosen one, and I don’t mean that in a way….you can fight through walls, I’m just saying. When you’re just not one of their guys, you’re just not one of their guys. No matter what,” stated Anderson.
Anderson returned to WWE in October 2022 despite holding the NEVER Openweight Championship. He would make a successful title defense while signed to WWE before losing the title at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
Anderson and Gallows were released by WWE in February.
