Mercedes Mone On WWE Counter-Programming AEW: I Don’t Watch Them. I Don’t Care About Them
Mercedes Mone weighs in on WWE counter-programming AEW.
AEW and WWE will go head-to-head on September 20 with AEW All Out in Toronto and WWE Wrestlepalooza in Indianapolis. WWE has made a habit of running shows on the same day as AEW shows throughout 2025 with NXT events going against AEW All In and on the same day as AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Speaking to Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Mercedes Mone was asked about WWE counter-programming.
“I don’t watch them. I don’t care about them. I’m “Eight Belts Moné.” I’m a champion of so many different companies. So, the more the merrier. If they want to put on wrestling shows while we have wrestling shows, I’m always going to be better. I’m always better. That’s why I call myself “The CEO.” They can keep on doing whatever they want to do, but AEW is taking over. If you want to watch the best, good wrestling, watch AEW,” she said.
When it was noted that competition was heating up, Mercedes said, “No it’s not.”
Mercedes will defend her AEW TBS Title in a four-way match against Persephone, Alex Windsor, and Bozilla at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
