Tony Khan: Mercedes Mone vs Toni Storm Is Absolutely A Main Event Caliber Match

Tony Khan talks Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone possibly main eventing an AEW pay-per-view.

At AEW All In last month, Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone faced off in a match for the AEW Women’s World Title which had some fans pushing for it to main event the show. In the end, the pair would not close the show, but Mercedes Mone at least feels a rematch should main event when it happens.

While speaking during the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media scrum, Tony Khan spoke about the possibility of the pair main eventing together in the future.

“I think that is absolutely a main event caliber match. That was part of the triple main event on the biggest show we ever did and one of the greatest matches we’ve ever had in the history of AEW. They are two of the greatest wrestlers in the history of this company, and two of the greatest champions. I felt like, coming out of it, the momentum was even greater for both of them. In a crazy way, after such a great much, even though [Mercedes] had never been beaten, I feel like you came out of it in some way with more respect and in many ways, people want to see a rematch even more. Absolutely, in my opinion, that would be a fantastic main event match on any major show.”
