Kevin Owens Confirms Successful Neck Surgery, ‘Fingers Crossed I Get To Come Back To Wrestling In The Next Year’

Kevin Owens provides a small update on his neck surgery.
Earlier this summer, Fightful Select reported on Kevin Owens, revealing that he underwent successful neck surgery on Friday, July 18.
On Saturday, August 23, Kevin Owens served as the Grand Marshal for Nascar’s Coke Zero 400 race in Daytona Beach, Florida. At the press conference, Owens was asked to provide an update on his surgery.
“Yeah, I needed neck fusion. It was very stressful going into it because we weren’t really sure how severe the fusion was going to be, how many levels, all this stuff. Thankfully, it ended up only being one level, which is the best case scenario for something like this. The surgery was successful, I had a great doctor. The thing is now we have to see how the bones fuse and there’s no guarantee that it’s going to work. It’s how my body heals, some guys had success, some guys didn’t. Fingers crossed I get to come back to wrestling in the next year, really don’t know though. My goal is come back so hopefully that happens.” Owens told Scotte Sprinkle.
Owens last wrestled in March, defeating Sami Zayn in an Unsanctioned match at the Elimination Chamber premium live event.
Fightful will continue to update fans on Owens and the progress that he makes towards an in-ring return.
