At AEW Revolution 2022, Swerve would sign with All Elite Wrestling. Since then, he has challenged for several titles during his time there, winning both the AEW World Tag Team Titles alongside Keith Lee as Swerve In Our Glory, and the AEW World Title at AEW Dynasty 2024. Another metric for success that some fans use is the quality of matches that performers go on, with star ratings playing a big part in that metric.

While speaking to Complex Sports in a new interview, Swerve was asked about his five star matches that he’s wrestled in across his career.

“I didn’t really have a five star match till I got to All Elite Wrestling. So that’s just three years I’ve really been getting that kind of recognition. I’ve heard I’m the one black wrestler with the most in history. So it’s something that I pride myself in, just putting on something that’s a classic. I wouldn’t necessarily put stars next to it, but I just appreciate putting on something that people are just gonna remember for a very, very long time. And if the stars come with that, that’s awesome. But I just wanna make sure when I leave the ring and put on a great performance and a great match.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Swerve spoke about becoming a meme in AEW. You can read more about that here.
