Francesco Akira Undergoes Successful Surgery For Fractured Wrist
A successful operation for Francesco Akira.
Three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Francesco Akira last wrestled on August 22nd at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Global Wars U.K. show.
He suffered a right wrist fracture during the bout, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling later announced that Akira would be undergoing surgery. Taking to X, Akira shared that he underwent the surgery on 8/26:
I had surgery last Friday, and it went smoothly. It was really painful, but from now on, I’ll focus on recovering little by little and come back even stronger! 💪

Akira had been wrestling in Mexico for CMLL. He last wrestled in Japan during the Best of the Super Juniors tour. He finished with 10 points in the A block in that tournament.
