Bishop Kaun Says Gates Of Agony Have Received Backstage Praise From Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, And FTR

Bishop Kaun wants more for the Gates Of Agony.

Kaun and Toa Liona have been one of more consistent teams in wrestling for years at this point, competing in well over a hundred matches across AEW, ROH, and NJPW.

Some fans have called for the Gates Of Agony to receive more opportunities in both AEW and ROH. Speaking with Limping Aint Easy for a new interview, Kaun spoke on this topic.

“It’s a hard balance. After that match with the Hounds, I didn’t feel the way that I thought that I would felt. It was good, I appreciated it, it was fun. It’s always affirming when you get people like Jericho being like, ‘I’d wrestle with these boys every day of the week if we did a tour.’ Or have a Kenny Omega telling us the same thing, FTR telling us the same thing. Everyone that we’ve ever wrestled tells us to our face that we are good. So I’m like, that’s reassuring. There’s not too many tag teams that look like us. We’ve been compared to like Legion Of Doom or whomever. I know that we’re both good workers, look great, look different.”

Kaun went on to say that he struggles with living in the moment.

“I just have this thing where I’m like, ‘Okay, what’s next?’ I try to be in the moment. There’s been matches where I’ve had and I can’t sleep and I’m laying in the bed at 4AM like, ‘What the fuck is my life?’ Then I have other matches like, ‘Alright, this happened, but what’s actually happening?’ I want to be a great. I want opportunities. We have all these matches in Ring Of Honor, yet we’ve yet to have a title shot which is crazy to me because we’re like 20-2. No one’s beating us, realistically.”

Kaun and Liona last wrestled on the August 27 edition of AEW Dynamite. Check out Fightful’s full recap on the show by clicking here.
