Kelly Kelly Recounts Defending WWE World Heavyweight Title With Adam Copeland On SmackDown

It was one of Kelly Kelly’s favorite matches.
Memories from Kelly Kelly’s career were delved into as she guest appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. One of those highlights came in 2011 when she teamed with Adam Copeland a.k.a. Edge.
Copeland was the World Heavyweight Champion at the time. Copeland and Kelly defended the World Heavyweight Title together in a mixed tag team match against Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) and LayCool (Michelle McCool & Layla).
“That was top-five matches too for sure… And I don’t think I realized at the time how people still talk about — they were like, ‘No, you were the only woman to defend the World Heavyweight Title in a match like that…’ And it was a big deal, and I remember when they brought the idea to me, I think the night before I found out that I was doing it, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ and I think we main evented that, which was really cool too…”
