Triple H Says WWE Wrestlepalooza Came Together Quickly, ‘ESPN Asked For The Date, They Wanted A Mega-Event’

On August 20, WWE announced WWE Wrestlepalooza for September 20th in Indianapolis, revealing that it would be the first event to air on the ESPN app, a deal that wasn’t originally scheduled to begin until 2026.

AEW All Out had previously been announced for September 20.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Triple H explained how Wrestlepalooza came together.

“There was a lot of thought, but it was in a brief period of time. We were sort of under the gun. As soon as we heard Indy was on the table and they had a date open, we were in. That was a no-brainer for us. We moved quickly on this whole thing. The whole thing came together very quickly. ESPN asked for the date, they wanted a mega-event, we said yes. We just had to pick a name and go,” he said.

Here is the current lineup for Wrestlepalooza:

WWE Wrestlepalooza (9/20)

  • John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
  • WWE Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer
  • CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch
  • The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) vs. The Vision (Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker)

Elsewhere during the interview, Triple H commented on AJ Lee’s return to WWE. You can find his full comments here.
