Takuya Nomura Diagnosed With Kidney Failure, Condition Does Not Currently Require Dialysis

A press conference was held for Nomura.

Big Japan Pro Wrestling held a press conference on September 14th for Takuya Nomura. BJW President Eiji Tosaka and Fuminori Abe of the Fighting Detectives promotion were present as well.

It was to announce that Nomura has been diagnosed with kidney failure. He’ll be taking an indefinite leave of absence from wrestling as a result.

On the 9th of August 2025, Nomura said he’d be absent for the time being due to a doctor’s orders because of a preexisting condition.

It was clarified during the 9/14 press conference that Nomura does not currently need treatments like dialysis, which helps maintain kidney function when the kidneys are no longer able to do so adequately. Nomura stated that his first goal is to get back to being healthy.

He last wrestled on August 6th. Nomura has worked dates for Big Japan since the beginning of his in-ring career in 2016.
