R-Truth: I Went To Money In The Bank Feeling Like I Was David Copperfield. Poof!

R-Truth reflects on his return at WWE Money in the Bank.

For about a week, it was thought that WWE fans had seen the last of R-Truth. Truth announced on June 1 that his WWE contract would not be renewed, but after a week of support and love from both wrestling fans and his peers, Ron Killings returned at WWE Money in the Bank, attacking John Cena in the main event.

Now, he’s reflecting on his return and the magic of the moment. Speaking of magic, he said he felt like David Copperfield.

“I came in like I was entering Fort Knox,” said Killings to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed. “I went to Money in the Bank feeling like I was David Copperfield. Poof, I was there, and it was kept undercover.”

Killings returned as a more serious version of his character. Now, flipping between the two personas, Truth says fans love the range he shows.

“People have said they love the scale and magnitude of my career,” said Killings. “You could see it that night during the promo and feel it that night. People reacted all over social media.”

As part of his character shift, Truth also cut off his hair, which had been a signature look of the character for years. Learn more here.
