Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre For Undisputed WWE Title To Main Event Wrestlepalooza PLE

A main event is officially determined.

Going into WWE’s Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event, it was stated on SportsCenter by WWE commentator Joe Tessitore that Brock Lesnar versus John Cena would be headlining the PLE. This week, Pat McAfee shared on his show that Lesnar versus Cena would be opening the PLE.

A contract signing for the Undisputed WWE Championship bout at Wrestlepalooza was held on the 9/19 Friday Night SmackDown. Cody Rhodes is set to defend the belt against Drew McIntyre. It was confirmed that the match will be the main event of Wrestlepalooza.

During the segment, Rhodes brought up McIntyre turning himself into a keyboard warrior. He encouraged McIntyre to fire off a tweet, and McIntyre did just that. He tweeted, ‘Thank you Cody.’

He explained why he tweeted that and said it’s because he knows Rhodes will give him a fair shot at the title because he’s a company man. After they signed the contract, McIntyre headbutted his opponent.

McIntyre was gearing up to kick Rhodes’ head through the commentary desk like he did in August, but he opted not to do so because he did not want to mess up the main event of Wrestlepalooza. When McIntyre was on the opposite end of the ring, Rhodes sprang up and hit him with a suicide dive.

The segment ended with McIntyre dropping the champion with a boot to the face.
