Triple H Says WWE Roster Could Rival Ruthless Aggression Era
Triple H believes that this current era of WWE could rival the star power of the ruthless aggression era of the early 2000s.
Triple H dominated the Ruthless Aggression era. From 2002 to 2008, Triple H was the top star in WWE, winning and holding the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship on multiple occasions, and headlining many of the WrestleManias from that era. Triple H is now the creative head behind modern WWE, and he is confident in the roster He is building.
During the Countdown to WWE Wrestlepalooza, Peter Rosenberg asked Triple H if he believes that the roster of today could match the roster from back then, which included a returning Shawn Michaels, the last active run of Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock, and more. Triple H was very confident that the answer is yes.
“I actually absolutely believe that. The beautiful thing about the roster that we have right now is that all of the names that you said are stars that have been doing this for a long time and are at the top of their game. But for every one of those you mentioned, there is a Bron Breakker breaking through underneath them, there is a Bronson Reed breaking through underneath them, there is a Gunther. There is a new crop of talent, right? There is a Rhea Ripley, who, in the big scheme of things, is fairly new here, right? There’s a Stephanie Vaquer. Then on the flip side of that, when you get to those talent, there is a Trick Williams, there is an Oba Femi, right? There is an Ethan page, there is a Sol Ruca, all of these names that are the future. So not only is it deep at the top, it’s deep in the middle, and the people coming up, but it’s deep underneath that there is no stopping this roster. This roster will be on fire for years to come.”
WWE Wrestlepalooza is the first WWE PLE part of the new partnership with ESPN. Learn more about how that partnership came together here.
