Cody Rhodes Scores Win Over Drew McIntyre To Retain Undisputed WWE Title At Wrestlepalooza PLE

The main event of the night.

ESPN’s first airing of a WWE Premium Live Event was Wrestlepalooza from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The main event of the night saw Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. Early in the match, Rhodes showed signs of not being all there physically. He was collapsing randomly and stumbling around.

There was a point in the match when McIntyre had Rhodes pinned, but the referee was on the outside of the ring because he was avoiding being run over.

Towards the backend of the match, McIntyre tried to kick Rhodes’ head through the bottom of the commentary desk again, but the referee temporarily stepped in front of McIntyre, and Rhodes was able to move out of the way. McIntyre hurt his foot as a result.

Back in the ring, McIntyre attempted to go for a Claymore Kick, but his foot gave out on him. Rhodes capitalized on that and went on to defeat McIntyre to retain his championship.
