Kris Statlander To Defend AEW Women’s World Title Against Mina Shirakawa On 9/24 AEW Dynamite

Kris Statlander will have her first title defense on this week’s AEW Dynamite.
At AEW All out on September 20th, Kris Statlander was one of four women competing for Timeless Toni Storm’s AEW Women’s World Championship. In a shocking result, Statlander would apply a seatbelt pin to Storm for the decisive 3 count. After the match, Statlander invited on all comers for her newly won championship. Now, one woman on AEW’s roster has answered the call for this week’s show.
In a new social media post on Tuesday, Tony Khan announced that Kris would have her first title defense of the AEW Women’s World Championship on this upcoming Wednesday’s Dynamite against Mina Shirakawa. Tony would cite Mina’s recent winning streak and a desire to avenge Toni Storm’s loss as the reasoning behind Mina’s title challenge.
