Charles Robinson Admits He Faked ‘Broken Rib’ From Goldberg Spear

Goldberg wrestled his last match in July, taking on Gunther at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. During the match, Goldberg speared referee Charles Robinson.

Robinson later claimed he suffered a broken rib.

It turns out, he was lying.

“Normally, he lays me down nice and softly. He went right through me,” said Robinson in an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight.

Asked if Goldberg broke his rib, Robinson revealed the truth.

“No. No. My girlfriend and I were in the room and I was like, ‘What can I do to put this over and make Goldberg feel good? Hmmm. There’s an image of a broken rib online.’ I called him to tell him what I was doing. He goes, ‘That’s a great idea.’ He didn’t mind. I was sore for about ten days. Can’t do anything about a rib anyway, so why go get it checked?”

Robinson reiterated that he did not suffer a broken rib.

Elsewhere during the interview, Robinson revealed how much longer he wants to referee. You can find his comments here.
