Matt Cardona Paid More For ‘Back To The Future’ Entrance At GCW Homecoming Than He Was Paid For The Match

Matt Cardona is all about investing in his presentation. Sometimes, that means paying more for your entrance than you get paid for a match.

Matt Cardona fought Shotzi Blackheart at GCW Homecoming 2025. Always wanting to spruce up his entrance for more important shows, Cardona entered the ringside area in a DeLorean and even had character actors portraying Doc Brown and Marty McFly.

In a new YouTube video, which he presented as his own version of WWE Unreal, he revealed that he paid the actors quite handsomely for their entrance. The total he paid for them, as he explained to someone off-camera, was more than he actually earned for the match.

“Doc and Marty. This is what they do… It’s a package deal. Yes, [I paid them] a lot of money. Yes, the package deal is more than I’m getting paid today. Yeah, it’s the investment.. For instance, last year I did the Jurassic Park thing, and tonight I’m selling official figures of me in that gear. It all paid off, right? Not every gamble pays off. Calculated risks.”

Cardona would lose that match thanks to interference from Nick Gage, Karrion Kross, and Scarlett. Learn more about what Kross had to say after that night here.
