NXT’s Kelani Jordan Becomes Knockouts World Champion At TNA Victory Road

NXT once again has possession of a TNA Title.

As a result of Ash by Elegance stepping away from in-ring competition and relinquishing the TNA Knockouts World Title, a Battle Royal took place to set up a match to determine the new Knockouts World Champion.

The final two talents in the aforementioned Battle Royal were Léi Yǐng Lee and NXT’s Kelani Jordan.

They competed later in the show, and the special guest referee was Indi Hartwell, who will be challenging for the Knockouts World Title at Bound For Glory.

There was a point during the bout when Jordan accidentally took out Hartwell, and Lee went on to drop Jordan with a spinning backfist. It took some time for Hartwell to recover, so when she got up for the count, Jordan was able to kick out at two.

Kelani would go on to hit her ‘One of a Kind’ split-legged moonsault finisher onto Lee to capture the Knockouts World Championship. TNA President Carlos Silva joined the ring to hand the title to Jordan.

Post-match, Ash by Elegance came out to congratulate Jordan. The two were paired together in a storyline in NXT while Ash was still with WWE.

It is the second time in a matter of months that an NXT talent has held the Knockouts World Title. Jacy Jayne had the title before Ash won it at NXT Heatwave. TNA’s men’s World Championship is currently in Trick Williams’ possession.
