NXT-TNA Invasion Special Set For October 7th; Men’s & Women’s Survivor Series-Style Matches, Hardys vs. DarkState In Double Title Match, Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams Made Official
The Invasion event is official.
The September 23rd edition of NXT On The CW was headlined by TNA World Champion Trick Williams versus NXT Champion Oba Femi in a title versus title match. Multiple TNA talents were ringside, and after a dust-up between Williams and his opponent at TNA Bound For Glory, Mike Santana, TNA wrestlers stormed the ring, and a brawl broke out between NXT and TNA wrestlers.
That was addressed by NXT General Manager Ava during the NXT No Mercy Premium Live Event. She announced that on Tuesday, October 7th, NXT and TNA will present the ‘Invasion’ event. That show will go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday in Jacksonville, Florida.
Ava stated that there will be two Survivor Series-style NXT versus TNA matches. The men’s and women’s teams will be decided when she meets with Santino Marella at the 9/30 NXT.
Also set for Invasion is TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) versus NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState (Osiris Griffin & Dion Lennox) in a double title bout.
Another match is locked in for Invasion, and it is a rematch between Trick Williams and Oba Femi. Ava added that everyone is banned from ringside. Femi is set to defend his NXT Title against Ricky Saints at NXT No Mercy.
