Andrade El Idolo Becomes First Wrestler To Go From WWE To AEW To WWE To AEW

El Idolo makes history.

On the October 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, Andrade made his return to AEW, attacking Kenny Omega in the process. Andrade proceeded to align with the Don Callis Family, shocking wrestling fans around the world.

With his return to the company, Andrade is now the first wrestler to go from WWE to AEW to WWE to AEW. This process started when Andrade was granted his release from WWE in March 2021.

‘El Idolo’ then popped up in AEW in June 2021, appearing alongside Vickie Guerrero on an episode of Dynamite. After spending two and a half years with the company facing names like Bryan Danielson and Buddy Matthews, Andrade’s contract with AEW expired at the end of 2023.

Andrade then returned to WWE during the Men’s Royal Rumble match in January 2024. For the next year and a half, the 35-year-old spent time feuding with names like Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight before briefly teaming with Rey Fenix. Andrade left the company in September 2025, prompting his AEW return just a few weeks later.
