Al-Ani posted a now-deleted TikTok video of himself. The song he put over the video is titled ‘Erika’ by Herms Niel. The song was used by the Wehrmacht, which was the unified armed forces of Nazi Germany.
The song became linked to the Nazi regime because their military used it for propaganda, despite the song not being about politics. Herms Niel ended up becoming a part of the Nazi regime, and he joined the Reich Labour Service, which was established by Nazi Germany to mitigate the effects of unemployment on the German economy, militarize the workforce, and indoctrinate Nazi ideology.
