Mark Coleman talks about Ryan Bader’s portrayal of him in ‘The Smashing Machine’.
As of today, ‘The Smashing Machine’ is out in theatres, as The Rock portrays Mark Kerr in a biopic centered around the former UFC and PRIDE fighters life. In the movie, former UFC fighter Ryan Bader portrays Kerr’s rival and friend Mark Coleman. Now, Coleman has commented on how Bader portrayed him in the movie.
In a new interview with WBNS 10TV, Coleman spoke about Bader’s casting as him, joking that he wasn’t as handsome or as ripped as he was.
“Man, they got it right. Ryan Bader, he wasn’t quite as handsome as me. I told him to get more ripped.”
That being said, Coleman did have some issues with how he was portrayed in the film, noting that he was portrayed as ‘too nice’
“They made me off way too nice, way too humble, way too kind. I would like to see them bring out a little more intensity.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, Bader spoke about The Rock’s performance in the movie, noting that it ‘felt real’. You can read more about that here.
