Orange Cassidy: If You Watched A Really Awesome Match Recently In AEW, With Some Main Events, Chuck Taylor Was Producing & Coaching That

Orange Cassidy gives Chuck Taylor his credit.

Joining Jonathan Coachman and Thunder Rosa for the latest recording of Off The Ropes was Orange Cassidy. As the conversation moved along, the two-time AEW International Champion was asked if he’d be interested in transitioning to a coach/producer role when his in-ring career is over. He said when he was injured, he was still around at AEW and helping out.

“When I was hurt this past time… I don’t sit home. I show up and I annoy people, and I stand around the ring and I get involved with things I shouldn’t just to try to help. Just because I like it. I like helping, and I like pro wrestling. It’s weird, and I just wanna be involved so, whatever is next for me, I’ll be involved in pro wrestling any way I possibly can.”

Staying on that subject, Cassidy shared that if you’ve seen an awesome match in AEW recently, including some main events, those were produced by Chuck Taylor.

“Somebody who’s been pretty significant now. Chuck Taylor used to be my tag partner and now he’s kind of transitioned into that… in that role. If you watched a really awesome match recently, with some main events, he was producing and coaching that, whatever you wanna call it so, it’s awesome that now we have AEW homegrown talent I guess we could say, now being in the producer, coach role, which is nice, right? Because I’m pretty positive most of the people on the roster have wrestled Chuck Taylor before and Chuck Taylor knows who they are. It’s an easier transition so, hopefully I could do this for another 50 years, and then I could think about the other stuff.”

Taylor is no longer an active in-ring competitor. He had been dealing with a preexisting ankle injury.
