The Rock Isn’t Sure If He Owns The Term ‘Jabroni’, Credits Iron Sheik For Making The Word Famous

The Rock clears up things for the jabronis.
In early 2024, The Rock joined the board of directors for TKO. As a result, he was granted full ownership of the Rock name and many of his signature catchphrases/sayings.
Speaking with Travis and Jason Kelce on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, The Rock said that he isn’t sure who owns the term ‘jabroni’ before giving full credit to The Iron Sheik.
“I do not own the word ‘jabroni.’ I think it’s just out there. I own the name The Rock, not jabroni. Wait, I might own that because I own everything associated with The Rock. ‘It doesn’t matter.’ ‘If ya smell.’ I might. Let me give him props. The Iron Sheik, he made that word famous. He used to, especially in the locker room, ‘This jabroni this, this jabroni that.’ He would call people jabroni. That’s where I got it from. It’s in the Webster’s dictionary, and I get the credit for it, but it’s really the Iron Sheik.”
Elsewhere in the interview, ‘The Final Boss’ named the greatest insult of his career. Fans can check out his full response by clicking here.
