Kota Ibushi Says It Will Take One Year To Recover, Two Years Before He Can Get In The Ring From Broken Femur

Kota Ibushi suffered an injury on Saturday’s AEW Collision (taped on October 8), falling off the shoulders of Josh Alexander from the turnbuckle and to the outside.

Ibushi was stretchered out of the arena. He later confirmed that he suffered a broken femur and underwent surgery.

On social media, Ibushi said it would take him one year to recover and two years before he could step in the ring.

“My current condition. One year to fully recover. Two years until I can step into the ring again. I believe in myself more than the doctors. I absolutely don’t believe in that. I know I have amazing DNA that gives me the ability to heal!!”

Ibushi first joined AEW in 2023. He battled injuries throughout 2024 and early 2025 before returning to the promotion in June 2025. He announced in August that he had signed a two-year deal with the promotion.

Fightful wishes Kota Ibushi the best as he recovers.
