Rey Mysterio Ranks The RKO As Top WWE Finisher
Rey Mysterio blindly ranks WWE finishers and puts the RKO at the top of the list.
Rey Mysterio has been a WWE Superstar since 2002. Over the years, he’s experienced nearly every great WWE finisher, from the Pedigree and Sweet Chin Music to the RKO and Batista Bomb. During an appearance on the Makeshift Project podcast, he blindly ranked five WWE finishers, placing the RKO at number one.
“That’s a killer. It’s a killer off the pool, off the edge of the house, from everywhere, on the
sand. I’ve seen RKOs all over the place,” he said.
He then ranked the Swanton Bomb at number three. He would go on to admit that he prefers Frog Splashes, but when Jeff Hardy did it, he made it look cool.
“I thought that when Jeff Hardy would do it, it was probably number one, but then a lot of people started doing it, and it just made it very easy to do. Jeff Hardy made it look cool, like he would arch all the way, and then flip at the last minute… Me, personally? I like the Frog Splash. I think there’s more impact, and you’re landing right on top.”
He was then asked about the Batista Bomb, which he put at number four.
“Oh, I got hit with that many times. I hope you don’t ask me afterwards about the Big Show’s Chokeslam… I’ll give it a four.”
The Chokeslam was not the next move he was asked about. Instead, it was The Undertaker’s Tombstone Piledriver, which he put at number two.
“Tombstone is very different. Tombstone is like, you’re high, but you’re not that high up. But what’s scary is that your head is landing first. With a Powerbomb, you’re high. You’re way above the height of the guy that’s carrying you, and you’re getting slammed with whiplash. So if you don’t tuck that chin, you’re going to hit headfirst.”
Then number five, by default, was his own 619, which he joked that too many people do now.
“Yeah, I knew it. That’s tough. Yeah, everybody does it now. That’s tough.”
So his final ranking was:

- Tombstone Piledriver
- Swanton Bomb
- Batista Bomb
- 619
