Rey Mysterio briefly talks about video games and why he’s not good at them.
Rey Mysterio’s wrestling style has been compared to a video game come to life. As such, Mysterio has always been fun to play with in wrestling video games as his move-set often allows players to do insane acrobatics, just like the real Mysterio is good enough to do in real life.
Mysterio was recently on the Makeshift Project podcast. During the discussion, he was introduced as one of the most fun people to play with in wrestling video games. He then remarked that fans often tell him how much fun they had playing games on the Nintendo 64 during his time in WCW, and picking him.
“I get a lot of fans that go back to like, WCW that say, ‘Bro, Nintendo 64 was the shit. We used to play that, and you were the guy.'”
He then explained that he’s not much for video games himself. His anxiety kicks in, and then he just button matches until his carpal tunnel kicks in.
“I’ve never been a big gamer, okay, but I always would get feedback, like, ‘That was the best game.’ I just get too anxious when I don’t know what to press, and I’m doing stuff, so I just start pressing everything. My carpal tunnel kicks in and I can’t…”
Surprising talk for a man who couldn’t wait to beat his kids (in WWE ’13).
Speaking of WWE ’13, Je’Von Evans recently noted that it was through playing those video games that he learned about the legacy of Shawn Michaels. Learn more about that here.
