Jazmyn Nyx Says Her Name Came From A Bratz Doll

Before she became Jazmyn Nyx in WWE, Jade Gentile played soccer in high school and overseas.
Once she signed with WWE in 2022 and made her in-ring debut, she took on the name of Jazmyn Nyx.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the Ariel Helwani Show, Nyx explained how she picked her name.
“Whenever they realize, ‘She’s improving. She’s working hard. I think she’s ready for TV,’ they reach out to you and ask you what names you want and to give them a list. Some people, they give a list and they don’t pick from the list. It just depends on what they want and what they see you as. I put Jazmyn on there. I had another name, but I can’t remember what it was. Jazmyn was my top two. They were like, ‘We like Jazmyn, we’re going to go with that. Do you like it?’ ‘Yeah.’ That’s how it happened,” she recalled.
Asked why Jazmyn, she replied, “You know the Bratz dolls? I always loved Bratz dolls growing up and there was a Bratz doll Yasmin. I really liked that name and I felt like Jazmyn fit me more than Yasmin, so I went with Jazmyn. Everyone compares me to a Bratz doll, so it worked with my character.”
Nyx departed WWE in September, deciding to not renew her contract with the promotion.
