Georgia Tech AD Says They Wanted Roman Reigns To Be The Captain For Game Against Georgia

Before he became the face of WWE, the athletic career of Roman Reigns began on the football field. Reigns played his college ball at Georgia Tech, starting three years as a defensive tackle and serving as a captain in his senior year.

Appearing on 680 The Fan, Georgia Tech Athletic Director Ryan Alpert was asked about Roman’s continued support of the team.

“We’re talking to Roman all the time. He’s super engaged.

“Roman has been incredible. Roman has been engaged and him talking about the program on Pat McAfee’s Show. We actually reached out to him, but he’s unavailable to be the captain for the Georgia game. It’s incredible to have somebody with that type of voice who can promote the program and has complete buy-in to what we’re doing at Georgia Tech.”

Georgia Tech will face Georgia on November 28th. Roman Reigns is advertised for WWE Survivor Series on November 29th.
