Hiroshi Tanahashi Addresses Announcement Of His Final Opponent: “Please Wait A Little Longer”

Hiroshi Tanahashi asks the public to wait a bit longer.

There was an NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 press conference held and talents who are currently slated for matches on the show were in attendance.

There was a separate presser that aired on NJPW WORLD, which saw said talents field questions from the media. NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi is having his final match at Wrestle Kingdom 20, and on the subject of who his opponent will be, he asked the public to wait a little longer to find out.

“Please wait a little longer. I’ve fought many different wrestlers throughout my career. I’ll make sure to announce who I want to be.”

NJPW booker Gedo approached Tanahashi after Tanahashi’s Homecoming event. He told him that he would prepare an opponent for his retirement bout if that’s something Tanahashi wanted.

At the press conference, ‘The Ace’ said he’s not leaving it up to Gedo.
