Sheamus: I’d Love To Send John Cena Off With The Greatest Match He’s Ever Had

Sheamus won his first WWE Championship in 2009 by defeating John Cena in a tables match at WWE TLC.
Cena is set to have his last match on December 13th against an opponent to be determined by a 16-man tournament. Sheamus is set to compete in the tournament, facing Shinsuke Nakamura in the first round.
Speaking on Raw Recap, Sheamus commented on the possibility of facing Cena in his final match.
“It’s very meaningful. You go back to 2009 when I had the match at TLC when I shocked the world and became one of the fastest ever WWE Champions by beating him, that itself launched my career to a whole new level and put me on the map right away. No one expected me to win that. I’d love to repay the favor, what was done for me. The opportunity to face him and beat him. I’d love to, full circle, give him the match he truly deserves on his way out and his last match. It’d be incredible. I learned a lot from John. I learned a lot really quick. I was lucky to get into that position, and when you’re in that position, you have to make sure to make the best of it. That’s exactly what I did. We wrestled pretty much every single night on live events and were on the road five days a week. It really was baptism by fire. I’ve taken two WWE Titles off John. What better way to send him off than a banger of all bangers. The GOAT of all GOATs goes out with a banger of all bangers. Send him off with the greatest match he’s ever had,” stated Sheamus.
Sheamus later stated that he wants the match more than anything.
