Darby Allin comments on the mindset needed to participate in a Blood And Guts match.

The Blood And Guts match is perhaps AEW’s most violent stipulation match type and is the companies take on the iconic War Games match. This year, the women of AEW will take part in the duel cage bout for the first time. Now, a man who is familiar with the match type has given advice on what kind of mentality you need in the bout.

While speaking to 3NT Wrestling in a new interview, Darby Allin was asked about what mentality someone has to have going into the match, with Allin noting that you can’t be afraid to go to the hospital if you are partaking in the match.

“You got to be at peace with whatever happens. You can’t be afraid to go to the hospital. You can’t be afraid to have months taken off your career. You got to be willing to risk it all, and anybody that knows anything about this past year? I’ve been risking everything, everything. So I think Blood And Guts is very on brand with how I live my life.”

Elsewhere in another recent interview, Darby noted that Tony Khan was probably happy he didn’t die on Mount Everest because it would have been bad PR for AEW. You can read more about that here.
