Kofi Kingston Says The Locker Room Is Way Different Than The 90s, ‘You Hear About Them Shitting In People’s Bags’

Kofi Kingston is a WWE veteran of nearly 20 years, meaning he’s seen the locker room go through it’s fair share of changes in the two decades.
Speaking to Konnan and Disco Inferno on Keepin It 100, Kofi was asked how the locker room has changed, and what it’s currently like.
“Stuff is way different now. Y’all were crazy. You hear about y’all shitting in people’s bags. You guys used to do things a little bit different. People tell us stories about what you used to do. People don’t bust chops like that. We’re in a situation where my mentality has always been that we’re all in this same boat. The more that my co-worker can get over, the more I’m going to get over. I’m always trying to think of things that I can do to help people get to where they need to be and it’ll always come back around. Us with Grayson Waller right now. People are like, ‘This is such a random pairing,’ but he’s really good and really talented. To be able to put him in the mix with us, it brings a different dynamic for us, but it also allows him to show this audience what he can do. The NXT people already know. He had the Grayson Waller Experience and was awesome in NXT. That’s obviously a smaller viewership. Now, being able to see him on the main stage, he’s a star. Anything we can do to accentuate him, in the long run, is going to help us, but it’s going to help the industry and entertain the people. At the end of the day, that’s what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to make sure people leave with the best experience possible. It’s a little different. I was on the tail end of a lot of people who were in your generation and there was a mentality of dog eat dog, ‘I want to get over before anyone else,’ and undercutting. I’ve never had that mentality,” said Kofi.
Konnan and Disco pointed out that shitting in bags wasn’t done as a rib or busting chops, it was done to let that person know they were a piece of shit.
Elsewhere during the interview, Kofi offered praise for Carmelo Hayes. You can find his full comments here.
