Independent Wrestlers Shower DPW With Praise After Hiatus Announcement

It’s hard to put into words how much Deadlock Pro Wrestling has meant to the American independent scene. Top stars like Jake Something, Violence Is Forever, LaBron Kozone, Adam Priest, Dani Luna, among many others were given a shot to succeed and work their way up the ranks. While most were already established wrestlers, DPW gave them an outlet and provided one of the best atmospheres since the glory days of PWG.

Sadly, the promotion has announced they’re show on December 12th and a Japan show in 2026 will be their last for “the foreseeable future.” This announcement came out of nowhere, and it left fans and wrestlers shocked at the news. Numerous top DPW stars and independent wrestlers commented, showing just how much of an impact the promotion has had on their careers.

One half of GYV, James Drake, wrote a lengthy post, “2 years ago, we decided it was time for us to pivot and leave the WWE. Within the first 24 hours of us being free agents, we were set to surprise New Jersey by debuting for deadlockpro. I genuinely didn’t know what our future looked like. At the time, we had been portraying different characters on TV for the past 18 months.”

He questioned, “Does anyone remember us? Does anyone care? Have we made a huge mistake? These were the thoughts running through my mind, seconds before our music hit. I’ll never forget this raw, genuine reaction for us, as the GYV. This alone, confirmed that we made the right decision for ourselves, for our futures. Thank you deadlockpro.”

Current DPW World Champion, Jake Something commented, “DPW FOREVER. I don’t think I’ll ever have the words for how much this company means to me. Let’s pack the house one more time.”

LaBron Kozone, the longest reigning DPW National Champion in company history, spoke his mind, “I owe the best years of my career to DPW, talent, staff, & fans. James, John & Tony did it better than everyone. They’re the most passionate & professional people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. I’m torn but excited to see what the future holds for us! 🙏🏽 #DPWForever.”

Current DPW Women’s Champion Queen Aminata wrote, “What a bad news week for me… this makes me really sad.” The woman she took the title from, Dani Luna, commented, “I wouldn’t be the wrestler I am now without DPW. What a run.”

Numerous other top names in the industry such as Trevor Lee, Andrew Everett, Chris Danger, Adam Priest, Kevin Ku, Dominic Garrini, Bojack, among many others all showered DPW with praise.
