Bianca Belair: “I’m Hoping I Can Be Back In The Ring Soon”
Belair is hoping to make her way back to the ring.
The opening bout of WrestleMania 41, night two, was a Triple Threat match for the WWE Women’s World Championship. IYO SKY successfully defended against Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley.
As the bout was ongoing, Belair suffered a broken knuckle joint injury. Fast forward to present day, Belair has not wrestled since suffering the injury.
She made an appearance on BET’s 106 & Sports and reshared the details of how she suffered the injury. She then added that she hopes to be back in the ring soon.
“So I broke my knuckle — which is not my finger — I broke my knuckle joint. It’s something that I thought was gonna be a very straightforward, eight to 12 weeks. It’s been almost six months at this point. But, it was WrestleMania, and I was in a Triple Threat with Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY and we were going to the top rope because that’s what we do, and we came off the top rope and Rhea landed straight on my hand and just crushed everything in my finger so, it’s been a crazy journey and you know, being an athlete and having an injury, you rely on your body and now my body’s not doing what it is supposed to do but, I’m hoping I can be back in the ring soon.”
Belair made a comeback to television for the build to WWE’s all-women’s Premium Live Event, Evolution. She was the special guest referee for Jade Cargill and Naomi’s No Holds Barred match.
