Je’Von Evans Speaks About Friendship With Leon Slater: “That’s My Dawg”
Evans and Slater have formed a bond through working together.
One of the matches on the docket for week one of WWE NXT Gold Rush is Je’Von Evans and TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater challenging DarkState (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin) for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
The Masked Man Show welcomed Je’Von onto the show, and along the way, he spoke about his friendship with the X Division Champion.
“Honestly, me and Leon (Slater), we’re dawgs. Like you said, we’re on similar but separate paths. It’s kind of like you can look in the mirror. We know that we can wrestle any and everybody. But also, I think we both understand that it’s still a competitive sport. So, I’ll do something crazy, and then, he’ll do something crazier. It’s competition but, it makes us look like we’re one of the best tag teams ever. That’s my dawg, and I know he’s planning to do bigger things in TNA. I’m planning to do bigger things in WWE and if anything ever cross paths again, then, we might have another banger one-on-one.”
Slater was present alongside Evans on the 11/11 edition of NXT on The CW. Slater made a surprise in-ring appearance and helped Evans fight off DarkState.
