Dana White says Jon Jones doesn’t need to apologize to him, despite Jones’ offers to.
Over the course of the past year, Jones has been involved in controversy, something that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion is very familiar with throughout his career. Jones would retire from MMA, vacating the championship before appearing to renege on that announcement soon after.
While speaking to TMZ Sports in a new interview, Dana White was asked about Jon Jones recently offering to apologize to White, with White noting that Jones does not need to apologize to him for anything.
“Yeah, absolutely. Listen, he doesn’t need to apologize to me for anything. Even through all the bad stuff that Jon and I have gone through, I still say that Jon Jones is the greatest of all time because it’s a fact, you know? It has nothing to do- everybody starts laughing when I say it. Jon Jones is the greatest of all time, period, end of story. I know it and everybody else knows it. So there’s nothing for Jon to apologize about. You know, dealing with Jon over the last however many years has been a unique experience, I can tell you that. But it doesn’t change the fact that he’s the best ever.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Dana noted that the UFC won’t be ‘messing with’ their White House card until February. You can read more about that here.
