Matt Cardona Says He’s Given WWE Temporary Merchandise Rights
Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) made his return to WWE on SmackDown, entering the Last Time is Now tournament as the mystery opponent for LA Knight.
Immediately following the match, WWE Shop put up new Zack Ryder merchandise.
Speaking on the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, Cardona explained that he signed a short-term agreement with WWE for merchandise.
“I did sign something to let them do merch temporarily. Could there be a Mattel figure? Could there be a Topps card? It’s really up to them. I’ve given them the rights temporarily,” he said.
Cardona wasn’t the only former superstar to return as part of the Last Time is Now tournament as Dolph Ziggler (Nic Nemeth) was the mystery opponent for Solo Sikoa.
Like with Ryder, Ziggler got merchandise on WWE Shop after the match.
