Thunder Rosa: “Given The Circumstances Right Now, I Can’t Be In The Ring”

Thunder Rosa is working towards a return.

The last time Thunder Rosa wrestled was in July in the women’s Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In Texas. Rosa provided an update on her status while she was on Masks Mats & Mayhem.

She was asked about the possibility of her reuniting on-screen with Toni Storm, but stated that, given her current circumstances, she cannot be in the ring.

“Unfortunately, it’s not up to me,” Rosa said in response to whether there’s a chance she’ll reunite with Toni Storm in AEW. “I just work there. I just come, show up, say thank you very much. I’m happy to be here and when I go back and wrestle, that’s what you do. I would have loved to but, given the circumstances right now, I can’t be in the ring. So, people have to move on and that’s what happened… And for me right now, my health is super important for the rest of my career.”

Rosa would later add that she is preparing herself to get back in the ring. She thinks 2026 will be a big year for her personal goals. She stated that she’ll be releasing a documentary next year.

“And I’m preparing myself to get back in the ring, which is important. I think this year, 2026, is gonna be extremely important. I have to stay healthy for big opportunities to come in the future. What do they look like? I don’t know yet. But for sure, my Master’s degree is coming, that’s for sure, and some music is coming, and a documentary is coming. So, there’s a lot of stuff that we’re working on…”

Rosa’s last stretch of matches happened across three consecutive days. She was in action on AEW Collision, ROH Supercard of Honor, and then capped things off with All In Texas.
