Kevin Knight Explains Why There Could Be Tension Between Himself And Mike Bailey In Casino Gauntlet Match At AEW Full Gear

Kevin Knight wants to duke it out with his tag partner at AEW Full Gear.

The pay-per-view will feature a Casino Gauntlet match to determine the inaugural AEW National Champion. As of publish time, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Kevin Knight, Ricochet, and Mike Bailey have been announced for the contest.

Speaking with the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Knight said that there could be some tension between himself and Bailey in the match.

“Me and Speedball in there at the same time, I feel like there will be a little bit of tension there but may the best man win, you know? I think by any means necessary, we’re both gonna do what we have to do. If we have to meet each other at the top, we’re evenly matched so I think we’ll both give each other a great run for our money. May the best man win, you know?”

Knight went on to reveal that he still has a bit of a grudge with Mike Bailey.

“If we get in there, we won’t hesitate to go at it because I still got a sour taste in my mouth and a little bit of a grudge from a couple of years ago. Speedball cost me a shot at the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship at the All Star Festival a couple of years ago. We had to battle it out in the main event, 30+ minutes wrestling our second time that night. He got the best of me then. Since then, I still haven’t challenged for that championship. It’s just something burning in my heart. I don’t want to take a grudge out on my partner, we got so much going well right now, but I think that’d be a perfect time to let out some frustration.”
