AJPW Suspends Yuma Aoyagi For Three Months After Traffic Accident, Hits Him With 50% Pay Cut

Yuma Aoyagi to be away from AJPW until 2026.

All Japan Pro Wrestling pushed out the announcement that on November 23rd, a car collision occurred in Numazu City, and one of the drivers was two-time Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion Yuma Aoyagi.

After the accident, Aoyagi contacted the authorities and reported what had happened. There are no injuries on the AJPW side, but the other person involved is dealing with a leg issue and is being evaluated at a hospital.

AJPW confirmed that Aoyagi’s license was expired when the accident occurred.

Aoyagi has been hit with the following disciplinary actions as a result:

  • 50% pay cut
  • Suspension for three months

Those measures will remain in place until February 28th, 2026.

AJPW apologized to those involved in the accident. They gave a stern warning to Aoyagi and noted that they will once again reinforce safe driving practices to prevent this from happening again.

Aoyagi is no longer participating in AJPW’s Real World Tag League tournament. He issued the following apology on X:

AJPW wrote a detailed account of the accident. Aoyagi was driving his personal vehicle. He approached an intersection and continued moving without noticing the red light. He then collided with the other vehicle.

The right side of Aoyagi’s vehicle was damaged, and the other party’s vehicle had light and bumper damage.

The 30-year-old Aoyagi has been wrestling for AJPW since the beginning of his in-ring career in 2014.
