Charlotte Flair Says Forming Partnership With Alexa Bliss Was Bigger Than Winning 2025 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble

Flair dives into her 2025.

Sam Roberts and Megan Morant recorded the Survivor Series: WarGames Recap podcast, and joining them to chat was Charlotte Flair.

Flair was coming off being on the winning team in the women’s WarGames match. In reference to her now being a babyface, Flair was asked about the journey she’s been on in 2025.

Flair would go on to recount advice from John Cena after WrestleMania 41. He told her that she does not have to be perfect all the time. Flair later shared that she feels forming the on-screen partnership with Alexa Bliss was bigger than her winning the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble match.

“Yeah, I think — (John) Cena pulled me aside after WrestleMania and was like, ‘You don’t have to be perfect all the time,’ and then, I wrote The Players’ Tribune piece… For so long, I felt all this pressure of always having to be perfect, and wanting to be perfect. When I truly realized after everything I just kind of been through and in front of the audience, I feel like I always had to be indestructible when really, like, getting to know my flaws and my insecurities… who Ashley is as a person allowed me to connect with them and all those things that I was scared of of them knowing, or failing or not being good enough or my age or whatever it is, I was like, ‘You know what? This is me.’ I don’t know, it was like, what made me special were all those things that I’ve been through and letting the audience see that, and they’ve just been on this rollercoaster with me and then getting to pair with Lexi (Alexa Bliss) and kind of bringing me back, like, a softer side and having an on-camera friendship… I’ve been a solo act for so long, and I felt like was a bigger moment for me than Rumble… I’ve won the title how many times? But that felt special and organic and no one had that on their bingo card, and it’s been awesome being able to let go of the pressure and just enjoy the WWE universe. Being like, hey, I grew up in front of you guys, I love you guys. I want to enjoy this as much as you do. So maybe I won’t try to be — being perfect isn’t cool. It took me a long time to learn that.”

Elsewhere in this interview, Flair was asked what her road to WrestleMania 42 could look like and if she wants to get back in the title picture. Her comments can be found here.
