Several Fans Removed From Venue After Storming Ring At C*4 Wrestling Event

The full story with comments from the promoter.

There was an incident at a C*4 Wrestling event in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that resulted in several fans being removed from the venue after they stormed the ring.

The incident took place on November 28th at C*4’s ‘Event Horizon’ show, which was their anniversary event.

A recount of what occurred was shared on Reddit by an individual who was in attendance:

Just prior to the main event, after the Referee was introduced, two large males jumped into the ring and attempted to assault the Ref with punches.

Security was quick to intervene and was able to grab them before they could actually land a punch.

Security did there best to subdue the assailants and get them out of the Event Centre venue. There were punches thrown throughout the process from both sides but the security seemed to be doing it through self-defence. Once the men were thrown out they tried to come back in and another scrum ensued until they were finally cast out for good.

After some recuperation time and checking everyone was okay, the show continued with a standing ovation of support for the Ref and staff. The Ref was shaken but continued working.

John Pollock of POST Wrestling spoke with C*4 promoter Mark Pollesel following the incident. Pollesel stressed that this was not an angle.

There was a singles match between Kristara and Amira. There were several show-goers who may have been drunk and were talking about rushing the ring. Security overheard that conversation.

The referee for the main event entered the ring, and then three people rushed into the ring and attacked him. Those three individuals and the people they were with were subdued by the C*4 team. Punches were thrown, but no one on either side was hurt.

The promoter got into a verbal back-and-forth with the individuals after they tried to tell the venue owner that it was all a part of the show. The wrestlers supported Pollesel.

Pollesel said the following to POST Wrestling:

“The incident as a whole is absolutely not something that ever happens at our shows. I can count on one hand how many times fans have gotten into the ring or confronted talents on one hand in 18 years. I absolutely hate that this all happened. The group that jumped in the ring was absolutely not regular fans, and not representative of our community. Something we are incredibly proud of is that we have an awesome, inclusive, and welcoming crowd. I just hate that anybody would try to cause problems on our anniversary like that.”

The incident will not be included when the show airs on IWTV on December 2nd.
