KENTA Says It’d Be ‘Amazing’ If He Could Face WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura At NOAH The New Year 2026
KENTA is game for the bout.
Pro Wrestling NOAH is heading towards its first event of the new year, titled ‘NOAH The New Year 2026.’ The upcoming show was brought up to KENTA during his chat with Rolling Stone Japan.
With the partnership in play between Pro Wrestling NOAH and WWE, Shinsuke Nakamura’s name was brought up. KENTA thinks it’d be amazing if he could square off with Nakamura at the event.
“That’s right (NOAH & WWE have a relationship). If that were to happen, it’d be amazing,” KENTA said about a potential match against Shinsuke Nakamura. “It’s not impossible. It would be a little awkward, though (laughs). We say things like, ‘It would be great if we could have our wrestlers go back and forth and make it interesting,’ but in reality, it’s a little awkward (laughs). Still, I think there’s definitely potential for me to do things in the NOAH ring with WWE wrestlers, using my current style, that I couldn’t do in America.”
Nakamura started 2025 by competing at NOAH The New Year. He defeated Ulka Sasaki in singles competition.
Elsewhere on the NOAH-NXT front, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger dropped the GHC Tag Team Championship to Takashi Sugiura and Masa Kitamiya.
