AJ Styles Says You Can’t Claim Moves In Pro Wrestling
On Monday’s WWE Raw, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defeated New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston), successfully defending the WWE World Tag Team Championships.
The finish saw Lee hit a double stomp on Kofi, who was draped across the top rope. Kofi springboarded into AJ, who caught him for the Styles Clash.
On social media, AJ responded to fans who believed he stole the move from The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson).
“In Prowrestling you can’t claim moves. They may be your signature, but those are still open to the public. Any confident wrestler wouldn’t ever change that. Calm down guys,” wrote AJ.
Another fan responded, “Nobody is “claiming” this maneuver, they are simply implying you are borrowing it from your friends and former stable-mates.”
AJ replied, “But if we do it again, is that borrowing or stealing? The answer is….neither. The job is entertainment.”

AJ has done the rebound Styles Clash in the past, notably against Ricochet during the ThunderDome era.
