Funaki’s Son Jesse Appears In TNA Backstage Segment, Set To Try Out For The System

He’ll be trying out for the group as J.D.C. is on his way out.

Before TNA Wrestling’s Final Resolution special got underway from El Paso, Texas, the promotion pushed out a video onto their social media pages of Jesse Funaki, the son of former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Sho Funaki, appearing in a backstage video with The System (Moose, Alisha Edwards, J.D.C., Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers).

Jesse received a warm welcome from the group. J.D.C. asked him what he was doing at the venue, and Brian Myers mentioned that Jesse is there to try out for The System as J.D.C. is set to retire from in-ring competition after TNA Genesis in January 2026.

Jesse then gave words of support to J.D.C. heading into his TNA World Championship match at Final Resolution.
