Many pro wrestlers began their careers in physical contact sports in the realm of football, with some even exploring the option while being professional wrestlers. For R-Truth, he feels the two careers have more in common than people think.
While speaking to Queen City News in a new interview, R-Truth was asked about getting to be on the sideline for a Panthers game, noting that football players and WWE superstars have more in common than people think.
“I was ready. Being with WWE, man, we come ready so we don’t have to get ready. We stay ready, and energy is energy, Mike. The Panthers are a game energy versus a wrestling ring energy. People are people. We’re different, but we’re so much of the same. We got more in common than we think that, man, like that we know, and the energy there was just as awesome as it was in the WWE ring, man. That’s all.”
Last month, Truth reflected on his WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event match with John Cena earlier this year. You can read more about that here.
